After reading the other tabs for this song, there's some VERY crucial
mistakes in them.
First of all, the intro is only done on two strings. Pete says so
himself. So any tab that has full chords in it for that part is wrong.
Second, the high pitched fill inbetween the main chords on the chorus
is completely wrong. One guy has it listed as 9-x-12 and 4-x-7, then
another guy has it listed as 9-9-9*. Neither are right at all. The
pitches are too high.
What Pete does in many songs (especially on Wonder What's Next) is use
open string fills. If you look below at the part I have for it & play
along with the CD, just listen to how the pitches match up. Also, read
the side note because it explains why the chords work.

*** Side note about why these chords work ***
Most of you probably already know what I'm going to explain here because
many people that visit the site have at least a few years of playing under
their belts. But this is meant for any of the beginners who may have
questions about it.
If you diagram the two chords here which are the 9-0-0 and the 4-0-0, you'll
see that they are in fact both the same chord. The 9-0-0 = C#-G#-C# and the
4-0-0 chord is G#-G#-C#. The only difference between the two is that in one
you have two C#'s and only one G#, but in the other you have two G#'s and only
one C#.
However, it doesn't matter because in either instance the C#'s are
the exact same pitch as one another and the same can be said for the G#'s.
In other words, the 9 on the E string matches the 0 on the C# string and the
4 on the E string matches the 0 on the G# string. So you're actually only playing
two notes. The reason you don't play just the 9-0-0's or just the 4-0-0's is
because it's less of a stretch to play the 9-0-0 coming off the 8-8-8 and the
same goes for reaching the 4-0-0 off the 5-5-5 chord.
I hope this makes sense because the only way it's not going to sound correct
is if your guitar is out of tune. Back to the tab...
